The biggest sales weekend of the year

Black Friday 2026 is on November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday following on November 30. In practice the sales season starts well before that: many retailers open their offers in the first or second week of November, and the weekend in between is when inboxes fill with countdown clocks. For watches, that is both an opportunity and a trap. Some prices genuinely drop. Others are dressed up to look as if they do.

We do not know yet what any brand will offer on the day, and we will not guess. What we can do is show you how to judge an offer in a couple of minutes, so you buy the right watch at a fair price rather than whichever one is shouting loudest.

How to judge a Black Friday watch deal

Every offer can be checked against four questions. If an offer passes all four, buy it. If it fails one, look harder.

1. What does the watch normally sell for?

The only price that matters is the one the watch actually sold for in the weeks before the sale, ideally on the brand's own website. Note it now, in October or early November, for any watch you are considering. If the Black Friday price is lower than that, it is a discount. If it is lower only than a "compare at" figure printed next to it, it may not be. Our price index records the listed prices of every watch we cover with the date we checked them, which gives you a reference point.

2. What is the price per watch?

Multi buy offers, buy one get one free, two for a set price, a gift with purchase, are hard to compare with a straight discount until you divide. Work out what you pay per watch you actually want. A free second watch you will never wear is worth nothing; a free second watch you would have bought anyway halves the cost of both. We go through the arithmetic in how buy one, get one free works.

3. Is the sale ever not on?

Across retail generally, some stores show a sale price nearly all year. That does not make their watches bad value, but it does mean the "sale" is simply the price, and the Black Friday label adds nothing. If a store has displayed the same reduction every time you have looked, judge its price on its own merits, against similar watches, rather than against the crossed out number.

4. What are the terms?

This is the step most people skip. Before you buy, read the store's return policy and the terms of the offer itself:

Screenshot the terms on the day you buy. Offers change, and the version you agreed to is the one that counts.

What is a fair price for an affordable watch?

A sale price is only interesting relative to what the same money buys normally. These are the prices listed on each brand's US site when we checked in October, before any seasonal offers, for watches we recommend across the site. Use them as the yardstick for November.

If a watch on this list is offered in November at a clear reduction from the figure above, that is a genuine saving. If you see it at the same price with a sale banner, nothing has changed.

What Lucky Fours is offering

Lucky Fours, the online brand behind several of the picks in our guides, currently runs its offer across the range: buy one, get one free, mix and match any watch. That is the offer as listed when we checked on October 9, 2026; we do not know whether it will change for Black Friday, so check the store before you buy.

The effect on price per watch is large. The Caspian, the brand's best seller, lists at $79.99, so two work out at about $40 each. Mix and match means the pair does not have to be the same model: a Caspian for every day and a Santos for evenings, or one for you and one to give away. Check the store terms for which watch counts as the free one when the two are priced differently, and read the return policy before ordering, including how a return from an offer order is refunded. The watches carry a 12 month warranty.

Buying a watch as a gift in November

Black Friday is when many people buy their Christmas watches, which adds two practical points. First, sizing: bracelets are adjusted by removing links, so if the recipient's wrist size is unknown, choose a watch that can be sized after it arrives, and see how to give a watch as a gift. Second, time: delivery estimates lengthen through December, and an exchange takes longer still. Check the store's current shipping times and its holiday return window before you order. For ideas by budget, our Christmas watch gift guide picks up where this leaves off.

Our advice for Black Friday

Decide what you want before the sales start, note its normal price, and only buy if the offer beats it on price per watch and the terms let you change your mind. Everything else is noise. If you miss the Friday, the same logic applies to Cyber Monday.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving in the US. Many retailers start their offers earlier in the week or even earlier in the month, and Cyber Monday follows on November 30.

Are Black Friday watch deals real?

Some are, some are not. A real deal is a lower price than the watch normally sells for, which you can check against the brand's own listed price over the previous weeks. A discount from a price nobody paid is not a deal.

Is it better to buy a watch on Black Friday or wait for January?

If the watch is a gift, buy in November so it arrives in time. If it is for you and you can wait, January clearance can be as good on outgoing models. See when watches go on sale.

Can I return a watch bought on Black Friday?

It depends on the store. Some extend return windows over the holidays, others exclude sale items from returns entirely. Read the store's return terms before you buy, not after.
